ABSTRACT
Nanoindentation and Microindentation are techniques used to measure hardness and the modulus of elasticity in a wide range of materials, that cant be measured by conventional means due to process or morphological characteristics. For this reason a study of the mechanical properties (hardness, modulus of elasticity, deformation percentage, elastic and plastic energy) of PVA, PVA-H3PO2, PVA-H3PO2-Nafin films with variation in the concentration of Nafion and PVA-H3PO2-TiO2 films with variation in the concentration of TiO2 was carried out. This study shows that PVA-H3PO2-Nafin films with 50% Nafin concentration presents the best mechanical properties in comparison with all samples analyzed
Key Words: Nanoindentation, Microindentation, hardness, modulus of elasticity, plastic and elastic energy.
