    The Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand correspondence

    This work states and proves the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand (BGG) correspondence, which describes an adjunction between the categories of complexes of graded modules over the exterior and symmetric algebras. To this end, the concepts of abelian category and category of complexes are introduced, along with the notions of quasi-isomorphism and homotopy. It is shown that the adjunction between the categories of complexes of graded modules over the exterior and symmetric algebras extends to an equivalence between their bounded derived categories.
