El siguiente trabajo presenta la implementación y descripción de una herramienta para inspección termográfica que permite fusionar imágenes de espectro térmico infrarrojo y de espectro visible. El sistema presentado se compone de un patrón de calibración, un sistema de adquisición de imágenes y una aplicación software que permite realizar el procedimiento de calibración, obtener fusión de imágenes, y generar el correspondiente reporte de inspección termográfica. El sistema híbrido de cámaras se compone de una cámara termográfica y una cámara visible, montadas sobre una base fija con la menor distancia entre ellas para aumentar la superposición de campos de visión. Las cámaras pueden ser de diferente fabricante y diferentes características, como campo de visión o resolución espacial. El patrón de calibración se basa en la propuesta de Ursine et al. (2012), y se configura como un tablero de ajedrez de 9 recuadros de ancho por 7 de alto. Los recuadros tienen un tamaño de 8x8 cm cada uno y se encuentran organizados de forma que se intercalan cuadros de cartulina negra con cuadros de cobre de 0.3 mm de espesor

(Eng) Monocular cameras are commonly used in communication devices, entertainment, and industrial environments since they allow people to recognize rapidly scenes and objects. On the other hand, thermal cameras are mostly known in industrial environments to visualize the objects’ thermic radiance but they lose their visual details. This work presents the design and implementation of a thermography inspection tool - INVIfusion - to fuse infrared and visual spectrum images. This tool includes three modules: image acquisition and calibration module, multimodal image fusion module, and report generation module. The main contribution of this work compared with other software inspection tools is INVIfusion supports cameras from different manufacturers (infrared and visible spectrum), having different field of view and spatial resolutions. To validate the suggested system’s functionality and accuracy, quantitative and qualitative tests were performed considering different camera configurations. In all cases the thermal camera was a FLIR E320. Quantitative tests were performed measuring the mean symmetric re-projection error obtaining a maximum error of 2.08 ± 1.8 pixels.
