dc.description.abstractSe actualizan los criterios acerca el sobrecrecimiento bacteriano del intestino delgado como síndrome digestivo y como enfermedad propia del intestino. Se revisan sus causas en la infancia y mecanismos de producción de malabsorción, las principales afecciones intestinales que cursan con diarreas asociadas al mismo y demás síntomas clínicos y complicaciones. Se relacionan los exámenes complementarios para el diagnóstico y los argumentos para su tratamiento efectivo, el efecto de los antibióticos de elección y la trascendencia de los agentes bioterapeúticos para establecer la recuperación del desequilibrio de la flora intestinal, enfatizando la eficacia del Saccharomyces boulardii. SUMMARY There are updated criteria on the bacterial overgrowth of the small intestine as a digestive syndrome and as a disease proper of the intestine. Its causes are analyzed during childhood and mechanisms for the production of malabsorption, the principal intestinal diseases that appear with diarrhea associated to this and other clinical symptoms and complications. Complementary tests are listed for the diagnosis and the arguments for its effective treatment, the effects of the chosen antibiotics and the transcendence of the biotherapeutic agents to establish the recovery of the imbalance of the intestinal flora, underlining the efficacy of the Saccharomyces boulardii.spa
