Se hace una revisión del dolor en el adulto mayor como grupo poblacional en aumento, destacando aspectos generales y comparativos con otros grupos de edad. Se revisan tópicos básicos como clasificaciones, cuantificaciones, fisiopatología y se resalta el manejo de equipo, mencionando como parte primordial el componente de rehabilitación que en muchas ocasiones no se tiene en cuenta como método terapéutico de elección durante el manejo conservador del dolor en personas mayores. A revision of the pain is made in the old persons as populational group in increase, highlighting general and comparative aspects with other age groups. Basic aspects are considered as classifications, quantifications, physiopathology and the team handling is stood out, mentioning as a primordial part the rehabilitation component that in many occasions one doesn’t keep in mind as therapeutic method of election during the conservative management of the pain in the old persons.
