| dc.description.abstract | En esta monografía se presentan las bases teóricas y metodológicas de un glosario que se revela como un material de divulgación científica sobre el monitoreo científico de aves, actividad que a menudo incluye la participación comunitaria en actividades de ciencia participativa. Ante la identificación de una deficiencia comunicativa entre profesionales y comunidad general, se propone identificar el léxico asociado a esta actividad. En este sentido, se busca analizar el vocabulario en español relacionado con el monitoreo de aves, identificando sus características y equivalencias en inglés, a partir de lo cual se elabora el glosario bilingüe sobre el léxico específico de las actividades de monitoreo científico de aves en el Valle del Cauca (Colombia). En cuanto a la metodología, este estudio es cualitativo, se parte de un enfoque descriptivo y se utiliza un corpus lingüístico para extraer y describir las entradas del glosario. Por su parte, las definiciones se elaboran con base en información obtenida de fuentes lexicográficas, priorizando en la traducción la coherencia y precisión con la versión en español. Como resultado, se obtuvo un glosario bilingüe de 54 entradas, con soporte en línea, en la plataforma de Google Sites; del que identificó un léxico en su mayoría técnico, con algunos anglicismos acuñados de manera coloquial que se incluyen en el ámbito profesional; asimismo, se observó una clara separación entre el lenguaje especializado y el lenguaje general, lo que evidencia la necesidad de recursos que ayuden a cerrar esta brecha. Aunque se logró recopilar una cantidad significativa de léxico, la cercanía de algunos términos a otros campos redujo el número de entradas, lo que subraya la multidisciplinariedad de esta actividad y la importancia de la orientación de expertos o recursos como el producido en esta investigación para que esta pueda ser asequible también a un público general. | spa |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: This monograph presents the theoretical and methodological foundations of a glossary that is revealed as a scientific outreach material on the scientific monitoring of birds, an activity that often includes community participation in citizen science activities. Given the identification of a communicative deficiency between professionals and the general community, the objective of identifying the lexicon associated with this activity is proposed. In this sense, the Spanish vocabulary related to bird monitoring is analyzed, identifying its characteristics and English equivalents, from which the bilingual glossary on the specific lexicon of scientific bird monitoring activities in the Valle del Cauca (Colombia) is developed. Regarding the methodology, this study is qualitative, it starts from a descriptive approach and a linguistic corpus is used to extract and describe the glossary entries. The definitions are elaborated based on information obtained from lexicographic sources, prioritizing coherence and precision with the Spanish version in the translation. As a result, a bilingual glossary of 54 entries was obtained, with online support on the Google Sites platform; from which a mostly technical lexicon was identified, with some colloquially adopted anglicisms that are included in the professional field; likewise, a clear separation between specialized and general language was observed, which evidences the need for resources to help bridge this gap. Although a significant amount of vocabulary was compiled, the proximity of some terms to other fields reduced the number of entries, which underscores the multidisciplinary nature of this activity and the importance of expert guidance or resources such as the one produced in this research for it to be accessible to the general public as well. | eng |
