This monograph is a literary analysis of the novel One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, by Ken Kesey published in 1962, that explores the power struggle between its two main characters: Randle Patrick McMurphy and Nurse Ratched. This struggle involves their ways of exerting power, their roles inside the ward, their distinct personalities, their actions, and even their ideas about life, especially what constitutes sanity and insanity.
