Hijos de madre toxémica : neutropenia y trombocitopenia.

Abstract

La enfermedad hipertensiva del embarazo, particulamente la toxemia, se ha asociado con neutropenia y trombocitopenia en el recién nacido. En un estudio previo se había encontrado muy poca asociación con estos eventos. En la presente investigación, mediante métodos hematológicos, se estudiaron 70 hijos de madres con toxemia severa los días 1 y 5 de vida; sólo 44 niños asistieron a control el día 5. Se encontró que la trombocitopenia en la práctica era inexistente y que la neutropenia fue más escasa de lo informado en la literatura. The hypertensive disease of pregnancy, mainly preeclampsia, has been associated with thrombocytopenia and neutropenia of the newborn. In a previous report it was found a very weak association between these entities. In this investigation newborn babies of 70 mothers with severe toxemia were followed via blood counts on days 1 and 5 after birth, but only 44 of the babies came into view on the 5th day test. According to the results of this investigation, thrombocytopenia was practically inexistent and neutropenia was much less frequent than reports in literature.
