FIRST RECORD OF Scolopendra gigantea LINNAEUS, 1758 (CHILOPODA: SCOLOPENDROMORPHA: SCOLOPENDRIDAE) FROM PANAMA.

Abstract

The large scolopendromorph centipede Scolopendra gigantea L., 1758 is registered for the first time from Panam´a. This finding represents the most northwestern record of this species outside Coastal Venezuela Province that is not product of an accidental human introduction. RESUMEN El ciempi´es escolopendromorfo gigante Scolopendra gigantea L., 1758 se registra por primera vez para Panam´a. Este hallazgo representa el registro m´as noroccidental de ´esta especie fuera de la Provincia de la Costa de Venezuela que no ha sido causado por introducci´on accidental humana.
